Prototype of the Ushiromiya mansion
In *Umineko When They Cry*, the opulent Ushiromiya mansion is based on a Meiji-era building that combines Western and Japanese styles. Its exterior features typical Western arched windows and fine brickwork, while inside there are splendid ballrooms and Japanese rooms. In the story, this is the main setting on Rokkenjima, where the family secrets and tragedies unfold.
