Riverbank Promise
In *Erased*, Satoru Fujinuma and Kayo Hinazuki sit on the grassy riverbank, with the wide river and levees behind them. Kayo softly asks Satoru, "Would everyone be better off if I wasn't here?", and Satoru gazes into the distance in silence.
