Keihan Uji Ticket Gate – Kumiko and Reina's First Encounter
In *Sound! Euphonium*, after school on the first day of the term, the protagonist Kumiko stands alone outside the automatic ticket gates of a local railway station, watching the dusk-lit platform. Suddenly, a trumpet sound drifts from afar. She follows it and sees a girl in a white uniform (later known as Reina Kousaka) playing passionately on a footbridge next to a railroad crossing. The camera captures the moment Kumiko is drawn by the music through the gates and tracks.
