Painter's former studio home
In "The Shell Girl", detective Tokisaka Reiji visits an old Western-style building tucked away in a quiet alley, once the home and studio of a deceased painter. The interior retains easels, the smell of turpentine, and unfinished paintings. He meets a woman in kimono there, discussing art and death.
