Encounter at the Shoe Shop
In *Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day*, the boy Jinta walks alone after school along a familiar shopping street. He passes an old shoe shop with a faded sign. The afternoon sun casts slanting light on the pavement. Suddenly, Meiko Honma (Menma) appears there, smiling and calling his name. Jinta turns back, as if recalling their childhood days.
